Don't be fooled by some of these books out there. They claim there's a bad boy in it, and there's not. JAMES, is the poster boy for the true definition of a bad boy. He truly knows how to play Annabelle. He knows how to play on her insecurities and turn it around on her. Like everything going wrong is her fault. She's over evaluating things. And, she's just making something out of nothing.. Then he let's her feel bad about it. Only to turn around and tell her he'll forgive her because he cares so much for her. And, she falls for it every time. Her friend is trying to talk some sense into her. But Annabelle is trapped into James' spell. As a reader, I was constantly shaking my head, saying, "No don't fall for it this time! Have some self pride!" Annabelle needs to get that inner strength and let him go for good. If he really cared about their relationship, he wouldn't have to hide it from everyone. It's like he is ashamed of her. But, when there together he treats her so good. He acts like he's obsessed with her. He makes her feel so special and needed. So Annabelle can't make herself believe that he's just using her. He has to have some sort of feelings for her. Right? But guess what? You can't have your cake and eat it too. It's either all, or nothing. James is playing mind games with her big time. True playa. I can't wait for book three. I'm praying she doesn't fall for James' charm again. I want book three to be all about what's good for Annabelle. Let JAMES see what he's missing, and make him regret it. And of course, Dean has got to be by her side. And let Dean strike JAMES out to lose a championship game. That would be a sweet ending. Dean getting the fame, the glory, and the girl. Love this book. Although I am an adult, I liked this book. I am hoping that that the main female character would have a bit more personal strength. No girl deserves to be treated badly but then when she goes back for more I get kind of frustrated.
Book number two, read the first decided to read the second... This book is actually better then the first one, Annabelle has a little of a voice in it and does TRY to stick to her word to stay away from James however she could do a better job.. but the heart wants what the heart wants
Book two drug us on from why James acting like such a prick towards Ana. Sarah kept his character realistic in the sense that high school boys don't know what to do with feelings of love versus being king of the halls. Great job Sarah. Book 3 ties things up while she still kept it drama filled.
Read it in one sitting...could not put it down!!! I see myself as Anna's best friend Jenna. She loves Anna and does not want to see her friend hurt by this boy who says he cares for her, but has a strange way of showing it. And what is up with his strange ways any how? I'm waiting for the next book before I make my final decision on wether I like him or not...

I had really hoped James wouldn't be the way he was! I had it in my head that he would sweep Anna off her feet and show her what that first love should be all about.
Dean came into the picture and he was just another James from another school! I mean he left her after a fight?! Then how much later even texted her?? I had to give James credit for at least tracking her down no matter what to get her home safe.
I can say I was mad through 90% of this but I couldn't put it down! Now on to the 3rd book!
I completely understand where Annabelle was coming from with her insecurities when it came to her relationship with James. I mean I can admit that I some points I was team James especially when it came to Annabelle constantly accuse him of basically cheating. I hated that Annabelle would accuse him without actual prove ..I mean Facebook picture don't count and don't get me started on Jenna, I definitely have a hate/love thing going on with her. With that being said I was also team Fireball because James never did anything to rule out that he was cheating.. for me my heart broke when he suggested that they keep their relationship between themselves. This book.. matter fact this SERIES is..breathtaking, that only one word to describe how this series is. Sarah Tork you have a loyal fan in me, continue to make breathtaking books for readers like me .
But not as good as the first, reasons why you say. I hated how Annabelle would run back to James as soon as he would crook his finger,get some backbone girl. I hated that James said he wanted to be with Anna and then would stomp all over her feelings the first chance he got and expect her to be ok with that. I hate that Annabelle thought it was ok for him not to want to be together at school. And I hate that Annabelle became obsessed with her weight, she was more fun chubby. And I learned no truth about James, other than he was jerk to Annabelle. Hopefully book three will answer my questions, James will be nicer, and Annabelle will learn that your weight doesn't make people like you. You make people like you.
